Red is the Helvetica of colours
Saw this in London recently. Not the best spelling, but a valid observation nonetheless. The construction fence it was sprayed on was painted solid red – more than anyone would need for warning purposes.

Posted by: Gareth at April 15, 2008 10:15 PMYes but we don't spell 'an' 'a'
Posted by: Nick at April 16, 2008 12:52 AMNice handwriting though, if you can call it that.
Posted by: Kim at April 16, 2008 2:46 AMQuite. And we’d probably spell overrated in one word, wouldn’t you (I’m German, after all)?
Posted by: e at April 16, 2008 4:36 AMI guess you should change the colour of your blog then..
Posted by: Erik at April 16, 2008 10:12 AMNice contrast though blue and red. Also, interesting graffiti commentary, most graffiti in America is people saying U R dumb, or drawings of genitalia
Posted by: joe at April 16, 2008 4:13 PM@ Erik:
when it comes to colour, i am a Helvetica person. I really cannot work with colour, so i keep to the typographic ones: black, white and red.
And i am thinking of changing the red on my blog!
Posted by: e at April 16, 2008 7:21 PMIncorrect spelling adds character to graffiti. It's probably a commentary on the people who do it, more than anything.
Posted by: Zumi at April 16, 2008 9:45 PMIt should read:
"Red is an over-rated colour."
When are these damn vandals going to learn how to spell?
Posted by: chvnx at April 17, 2008 3:43 AMCouldn’t it be without the hyphen:
overrated. As in overtaken? Or is that my Germanic way of thinking?
red is overrated, unless it's on a woman!
